Steve is a native St. Louisan. He grew up in the Sunset Hills area and attended Lake Forest College, located on the North Shore of Chicago. After a year of working as the Assistant to the Dean of Admissions for Lake Forest, Steve was accepted into the nine-month Management Training Program at Mercantile Bank in St. Louis. At the time, it was an extremely coveted program that was ranked among the top management training programs of all banks in the Midwest, including Chicago. It was in the management training program that Steve met Carolyn's husband, Bob, and became great friends from that point on. After three years with Mercantile as a corporate real estate lending officer, Steve decided to get his real estate license and switch careers. He joined Wallace McNeil Company, a commercial real estate brokerage firm in Clayton, in 1987. Timing was not on his side, due to a downturn in the commercial real estate market in St. Louis at the time. In 1988, Steve decided to join St. Louis based Maritz, Inc., a national leader in the motivation and incentive industry. Steve enjoyed six years of traveling the world with Maritz Travel Company, first as a Travel Director and then as a Travel Account Executive, operating incentive travel programs for Fortune 500 corporate clients. Finally, in 1994, Steve had the desire to return to real estate and try the residential side of the industry. He found his calling in life and has never looked back!

Steve lives in Clayton and is active in a number of charitable causes. He enjoys working out, golf, tennis and traveling (has a second home in Santa Barbara) and spending time with family and friends. Steve is the proud owner of an adopted rescue dog, a Catahoula Leopard, from the APA (Animal Protection Association of Missouri).

Carolyn was born and raised in St. Louis. She grew up in Chesterfield and attended University of Missouri - Columbia. After obtaining a BSBA in finance, Carolyn worked as a financial analyst for Citigroup Mortgage for two years. Carolyn found that her desk job was too dry so she joined Huffman Travel and then The Travel Company to sell group incentive travel. Carolyn eventually ended up working part time when her two children were young so that she could become more involved in their school and extra-curricular activities. In 1997, she decided to enter real estate. Carolyn thought that this would be the perfect blend of her finance and sales background coupled with her love of homes and decorating. She found her true passion. Starting slowly, Carolyn has built her business to a full-time career, making many new friends from the clients she has met along the way. Even with her real estate career in full gear, Carolyn still found time to volunteer at her children's high schools, Villa Duchesne and Saint Louis University High School, plus other volunteer positions.

Carolyn has lived in Brentwood with her husband for over 30 years. Carolyn's son graduated from Notre Dame and her daughter graduated from Rockhurst University. She cherishes the time when they are all together, but admits it is few and far between with everyone's busy schedules. She is still active in her community, church and charitable causes. She loves spending time with her husband, taking long walks with their dog, traveling, going out with friends and of course, helping her clients with their buying and selling needs.

Erik is a life-long St. Louis resident. He grew up in the Florissant area and attended Lutheran High School North. After high school he attended Rockhurst University where he played soccer and received a BSBA in business management. After college he joined Central Pattern Company where he worked for eight years as a sales engineer operating a CMM (computerized measuring machine), ran the ISO program, and was in charge of OSHA and purchasing. Erik has always had a passion for residential architecture and typically found himself attending open houses just for fun. It never occurred to Erik that he could make a career out of this until the idea was brought up around family members. He started slow, taking night classes and after passing the real estate exam, what seemed like a dream was coming to reality. He decided to leave his current job and has never looked back. In his first year he had great success receiving a rising star award and he was asked to join the Breihan/Malecek team.

Erik lives in Creve Coeur with his wife Jackey and dog Dex. He is involved in many organizations including the Rockhurst University Alumni Council of St. Louis, Lutheran High School Association, and Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, golf, cycling and any other outdoor activity.

Born and raised in Saint Louis, Lizz James is a proud native. Growing up in Kirkwood and Ballwin, Lizz then lived in South Saint Louis City for the next 13 years. Graduating Cum Laude from Webster University in 2007, Lizz received her BA in Education. Fresh out of college she received an offer to work for a local Physical Therapy, fitness and nutrition center in Clayton, which she ultimately managed. It was there that she learned so much about business, and about how much she enjoyed the personal dynamic of working closely with her clients. "My clients were like family to me. We used to joke that our sessions were like therapy. Working directly with people and helping them to improve their lives is an absolute joy for me."

In 2012, Lizz moved to Webster Groves with her husband, Matt, and their young son. "Finding our home was really transformative for us. We fell in love with our new community and neighborhood and instantly felt we had found the perfect fit for a place to put our roots. I really want everyone to get to feel that way about the place they call home." Lizz never shook that house hunting bug and eventually decided to get her real estate license with a bit of a nudge from her friend and client, Carolyn Malecek. With her interest in real estate and her experience working closely with people every day, becoming a Realtor was a natural transition. What started as a part-time gig, working with friends and family, quickly transformed into a new career. "Real estate is such a great fit for me. I love that the greater community is my 'office.'" I love the project of helping someone through a time of change. Whether it's selling a place full of memories, or hunting for a place to make new ones, whatever the case may be, new beginnings are exciting and I really enjoy being a part of that experience alongside my clients. I like to be the trusted guide, the helper, and the organizer (and hey, I also love a pretty house)."

Lizz is still living in Webster Groves with her husband, Matt, son, Eban and daughter Wren. Lizz enjoys volunteering at her kids' schools, community service and charity fundraising. When she isn't selling houses, Lizz enjoys the simpler things like cooking up a family meal or sitting by a fire. She loves to go hiking with friends, cycling, yoga, travel and catching good live music. She also really loves just hanging out at home and she wants you to too!
